The Legend of Zorro

A feature film starring Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment. It was directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Lloyd Phillips. Kim was Supervising Art Director. The Designer was Cecilia Montiel. The production was based at San Luis Potosí, a city of 1,000,000 people in the centre of Mexico.

The principal location was the ex Hacienda Gogorrón, with other locations at Salinas, Ipina, Minas Ventura and Canon Ventura. Train scenes were shot at the Termoelectrica siding at Villa de Reyes. The stage was at the Bodega Constanzo at the Zona Industrial.

San Luis Potosí is an ex-silver mining city, with a very pleasant colonial centre surrounded by industry, slums and desert. The city is in the altiplano at an altitude of over 1,800 MASL.
